Solar & sheer shades in Manhattan.

Solar & sheer shades for Manhattan homes

Manhattan has prewar co-ops with tall double-hung windows and radiators below, glass condo towers with floor-to-ceiling windows, and SoHo and Tribeca lofts with oversized industrial windows. Solar shades cut glare, heat and UV while keeping the view, and pair with a second layer for night privacy.

What matters in Manhattan

Walls of glass

Floor-to-ceiling glass in towers from Hudson Yards to the Financial District brings huge views and serious glare.

Sun and glare

South- and west-facing glass gets strong afternoon sun, while lower floors on narrow streets may see little direct light at all.

Privacy

The building across the street can be close enough to see in, so daytime privacy matters as much as night-time darkness.

Tall and hard-to-reach windows

Ceilings of ten feet or more, corner windows and walls of glass are common, especially in new towers and lofts.

Measured and installed in Manhattan

Most buildings require a certificate of insurance, freight elevator booking and set work hours. We handle all three, and plan around co-op and condo alteration rules. Every window is measured in person, so everything fits exactly.
