Woven wood shades for Long Island homes
Long Island has larger homes with two-story foyers and great rooms, arched and Palladian windows, walls of French doors, sunrooms, and North Shore, South Shore and Hamptons waterfront houses. Woven wood shades add natural texture and warm, filtered light, with liners available for privacy.
What matters in Long Island
Architecture and character
Arched and Palladian windows need shaped or carefully mounted treatments.
Sun and glare
Big south- and west-facing glass brings strong sun that fades floors, rugs and upholstery.
Privacy
Large windows facing the street or neighbors need privacy without losing light.
Warmth in winter
Lots of glass means heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter.
